We know you all have extremely busy schedules. For that, we truly appreciate you taking the time to continue participating in the Healthy Start Study.

Mom and child pairs (age 4 years-6 years old) who participated in Healthy Start I are now eligible to complete the Healthy Start II follow-up visit.

Where? Building 402, 12474 E. 19th Ave. Aurora, CO 80045

When? Healthy Start is open for appointments Monday-Saturday. Mornings are preferred, but we can accommodate afternoons and evenings as well.

the healthy start ii visit

The Healthy Start II visit takes about 2.5-3 hours to complete. You will be compensated for your time.

Procedures:

Bod Pod Measurement

Body composition (e.g. fat mass, fat free mass) is measured in this device. Radiation free.

Height Measurement

Weight Measurement

Waist and Hip Circumference Measurement

Blood Pressure Measurement

Arteriole Stiffness (SphygmoCor) Measurement

Determines how quickly blood is traveling through the body using pulse wave velocity testing. Non-invasive.

Fasting Blood Draw

Optional numbing cream available.

Optional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scan

2nd in-person visit required. This scan is used to measure fat patterning around the Abdomen and Brain. Radiation free.
